ABS-CBN Headquarters’ Light Display

29 days ’til Christmas…
As you may already know, the Philippines has one of the longest “Christmas Season”, if not the longest, in the world. Starting in September (the first “ber” month) and officially ending on the Feast of the Three Kings.
As early as September 1st, Christmas music can already be heard being played on some radio stations. Christmas promos (of some companies) and selling of Christmas trees and decors also start around this time.
Divisoria, the mecca of bargain hunters, also starts to get more crowded, much more than it is in the first nine months of the year, reaching a feverish pitch towards the week leading to Christmas Day.
Houses begin to be decorated with all sorts of decorations, the most popular types of which would be blinking lights and the parol (native Christmas lantern).
Speaking of lights, the ABS-CBN headquarters was “dressed up” for the Christmas season a few weeks ago (as seen in the photo). The flood of light bathing the building changes in color once every few seconds (various hues of red, purple, green, orange, blue, etc.). This “flood of light” is produced by numerous light sources placed at the rooftop of the smaller white structure adjacent to the main ABS-CBN building.
Aside from the flood of light, you will also notice the spots of white light on the building. These lights blink very rapidly without stop all over the building.
The light show starts at 6:00 pm daily.
